UC Santa Cruz Public Information Office

During the fall of 2006, I interned at the public information office at UC Santa Cruz and wrote these press releases:

• Planet hunters wanted to help astronomers in the search for new worlds (10/16/06). This release was picked up by the Santa Cruz Sentinel (twice) and the Associated Press.

• New statistical approach could improve care for sick newborns (11/13/06)

• Mark Carr helped shape policy in proposed plan for California marine reserves (11/27/06)

• New instrument reveals raindrop formation (12/4/06). This was picked up by different places, like LiveScience.com

I also wrote a couple of event announcements:

• UCSC Arboretum Fall Plant Sale (10/9/06).

• Biochemist Olof Einarsdottir honored by AAAS (12/4/06).
